Why Own a Log Woofer Tenon Cutter? | Specifications & Features
Carbide tipped blades are now available for the WOOFER III tenon machine.These blades are a tremendous improvement to the WOOFER III tenon machine. Up to 90 percent more cutting ability over standard high-speed steel (HSS) blades. Between 20-30 thousand tenons may be produced with the WOOFER III model before the blades need to be sharpened. These estimates are based on a 2-1/2"-3" pine log stock and the size of stock to be tenoned. As a comparison, HSS blades installed in a WOOFER III model may only produce 1000-1500 tenons. Carbide blades installed in the WOOFER III tenon machine make them more productive.Cutting tenons at a faster rate and saving sharpening costs they will pay for themselves in a short time. We highly recommend the use of them in our machinery. Blades may be sharpened or repaired if necessary. |

There are two carbide blades installed in the WOOFER III which remove material with the grain of the log stock, the same way that a drawknife creates a hand-hewn appearance. The amount of tenons produced (from pine stock less than three inches in diameter) between blade sharpenings is an unbelievable 30,000, approximately. This estimate may vary with different types of wood, and type of tenon being produced.
