WOOFER II
The Woofer II Model Tenon Machine was designed and priced for the smaller shops or the part time log worker. The Woofer II produces the same hand-crafted tenon as its big brother the Woofer III except at a slower rate. The Woofer III produces a tenon in less than 10 seconds; the Woofer II produces a tenon in 30 seconds. These times are based on a 3"diameter log being tenoned down to a 2" diameter tenon. The Woofer II is capable of producing up to 500 tenons per day on spindle stock.
ADJUSTMENTS:
Any hole a craftsman drills between 1" and 5" the Woofer II will produce a tenon to fit. The Woofer II is equipped with a scale to make the adjustment of the tenon diameter quick and easy. The largest stock that may be placed into the Woofer II is 5" in diameter. The shortest in length is 12" any length beyond this is acceptable. Tenon length is adjustable from 1" to 3" in half-inch increments. The tenon shoulder has a 60-degree slope.
HOW THE WOOFER II MODEL OPERATES:
The Woofer II model requires a 1/4" diameter pilot hole to be drilled 1 " deep into each end of the log stock to be tenoned. (This procedure is not required with the Woofer III model.) Using an electric or cordless hand drill to produce the pilot hole; a floor model drill press may be used as well on shorter stock. After the 1/4" pilot hole is drilled the operator places the log stock onto a 1/4" pin located inside the Woofer II tenon machine. Holding onto the log stock with both hands the operator then depresses a foot pedal causing the log stock to be pushed across a cutting blade. The operator then releases the foot pedal and rotates the log approximately a 12th or 20 degrees and repeats the process. After the operator performs this procedure several times a round tenon is produced with a handcrafted, hand-hewn appearance. The operation is quick and easy taking only 10-20 seconds. Another 10-20 seconds is required to drill the 1/4" pilot hole making the total time of approximately 30 seconds to produce a tenon.
SPECS:
The Woofer II is powered with a single 2-hp TEFC motor 220 volts at 18-amp service. This motor rotates a 2 1/2" diameter x 3" carbide tipped cutting blade. Approximately 10,000 tenons may be produced before sharpening. This estimate may vary depending on the type of wood stock being tenoned and the diameter of the tenon being produced. The Woofer II is 40" in diameter, 46" tall, and weighs 120 lb.
The Woofer II is equipped with guards making it a safe machine to operate. The Woofer II is manufactured with the same quality and dependability as the Woofer III model providing years of service and carries the same warranty as the Woofer III model.

The Woofer III tenon machine was introduced in 1989 and quickly became a leading favorite of the log home and rustic furniture-making industry. Hundreds can be found in operation throughout the U. S. and Canada.

Part of the Woofer III’s popularity is due to the hand-hewn appearance of the tenons produced, and the incredible speed of production. The Woofer III can produce four tenons per minute from spindle stock of three inches or less in diameter. Additionally, thousands of tenons can be produced between blade sharpenings.
